Who we are
Family-run, hands-on, every day
Crockleford Stud is a 24-stable livery and competition yard set on 52 acres of sandy, free-draining land with private woods and miles of off-road hacking. We are a family business, run by people who live on site and genuinely love horses.
Our experienced staff look after the yard every day of the year, and the flat, well-drained paddocks mean turnout is possible in every season — a rare thing in this part of Essex.
Where we are
In the heart of bluebell woods
You'll find us on Bromley Road in Ardleigh, just three miles from the A12 near Colchester — close enough for an easy drive, far enough to feel like proper countryside. The yard is surrounded by our own woodland, carpeted with bluebells in spring.
